The Mandate

The mandate of Keetmanshoop Municipality is derived from the constitution of the Republic of Namibia and the Local Authorities Act of 1992, Act 23 of 1992 and its amendments, namely:

To govern, plan, and provide a vast array of services across a broad range of urban service areas in Keetmanshoop

Vision statement

The vision of the Keetmanshoop Municipality depicts its desired state of the future over a period of 5 years from 2021/22-2025/26. Councillors and staff members, as a team, demonstrate their sense of purpose through their vision, and wish to translate their mission into meaningful results using the vision listed hereunder. The Vision of the Keetmanshoop Municipality is:

To become a collaborative and inclusive Municipal Council by the year 2026

The Mission statement

The mission statement focuses and directs Keetmanshoop Municipality as prescribed in the Constitution, and listed in the foregoing mandate. The mission statement of Keetmanshoop Municipality outlines the nature of its business, who its customers are, how it seeks to achieve, its stakeholder philosophy of partnership, standards, quality, and style.
